Missing Insulation Behind Bed

Missing Insulation Behind Bed

A client complained during an inspection in Manassas Virginia that a particular bedroom was unusually hot in the summer and cold in the winter.  A thermal infrared camera can figure that out very quickly.  This image shows a section of the wall behind the bed.  That "max" in the upper left is 134 degrees!  Imagine how cold it gets there in winter.  There were eight other similar locations in that same room!  That will make it hot or cold!  Missing insulation could be because the installer did not staple it and it fell down, or fell off or was not installed to begin with.  No matter what, slipped or missing insulation is something found very often during thermal infrared examinations.
